Hamburger quest – In a Mexican Restaurant? – Las Chilis November 24, 2014

This is not really a restaurant review but more of a particular entrée review. In the ever evolving quest to try every hamburger in the city, a pic from a fellow foodie led me to ……..wait for it…….a Mexican restaurant. To make this even more random this Mexican restaurant is located in a forgotten strip mall in Raytown. Thank heavens for GPS.

We went specifically to recreate the hamburger experience I had seen posted earlier by this fellow foodie. Off to Raytown we ventured and a double cheeseburger was ordered with a side of chili cheese fries. There is a slight possibility that this hamburger contained almost a full pound of meat. The patty’s were hand formed and cooked on a flat top. This is clearly not diet or heart friendly but it was a great burger. Had the bun been soft and fresh it would have been stellar. The fries were not needed because that burger requires you to wear happy pants when you eat it. If you are not familiar with happy pants let me explain it in detail.

Happy pants = elastic .

las chilis

The chili cheese fries my burger loving other half said he would pass on the next time however he would be happy to order the burger again. It was just too much to take in all together in one sitting.

Was in the best hamburger in town?……no. However it was a darn good burger. Was it the biggest hamburger in town?….distinct possibility.

Las Chili’s catered an event for St. John LaLande Catholic School in Blue Springs, MO. They did a GREAT job, the owners went above and beyond to make it a great experience for about 400 people. Since then we’ve visited Las Chili’s and have never been disappointed. Thanks !
